Paul and Phyllis Bodine were buried in Zion Cemetery, Bargaintown, Atlantic County. Phyllis was the daughter of Horace L. and Adelene Henderson.

ABSECON---Phyllis H. Bodine, 59, of Seminole Avenue, died Sunday in Atlantic City Medical Center, Mainland Division, Atlantic City. Born in Atlantic City, Mrs. Bodine was a resident of the Trenton area before moving to Absecon. She was a teacher and librarian. A 1943 graduate of Trenton High School, she received her teaching degree from Trenton State College in 1947. She taught school in the Trenton area and in Pleasantville, and was Absecon librarian for seven years. She was a member of the Absecon United Methodist Church, the administrative board of the United Methodist Women of the Church, and was a chairwoman of the church's memorial and scholarship funds. Surviving are her husband, Paul K. Bodine, a son, Frederick S. Bubeck III of Ocean City; two daughters, Nancy E. Bubeck of Boston, Mass. and Carol S. Bodine of Manhawkin; a stepdaughter, Patricia Bodine of Princeton; and two stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be noon on Wednesday at the Absecon United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Bargaintown. Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, New and Zion Roads, Northfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Absecon Scholarship Fund or to the South Jersey Cancer Fund, 1406 Atlantic Ave., Atlantic City, N.J. 08401.

BODINE, PAUL KENT, 75, of Absecon, passed away at home on August 31, 2001. He was born in Trenton. He was most recently an Automotive Consultant and was a member of the Methodist Church. He served in the Navy as a Higgins Boat Operator during World War II. He was a member of both the local and national LST 709 Association. He was a former member of the Lions Club and the First Aid Club in Stafford, and the Rotary in Absecon. He enjoyed pleasure boating, traveling and having fun with his children and grandchildren, who he loved dearly and forever. He was an incredible Father and Grandfather and Uncle and Brother. He grew up in Kingston and later resided in Princeton before moving to Manahawkin in 1952 until 1964. He resided in Galloway and Absecon since 1964. He will be remembered by his many friends in the automotive industry and will always have a place in their hearts. His many neighbors over the years always appreciated his kind thoughtfulness. He is survived by: two sons, John D. Bodine of Manahawkin, and Frederick S. Bubeck III of Sicklerville; three daughters, Patricia L. Bodine-Grice of Jobstown, Carol J. Bodine of Chicopee, MA, and Nancy E. Bubeck of Boston, MA; three grandchildren, John D. Bodine, Jr. and Paul A. Bodine both of Manahawkin, and Stephen A. Grice of Jobstown; niece Rebecca Young of Mt. Airy, MD; nephew Matthew A. Bodine of South China, ME. He was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Phyllis H. Bodine in January of 1985, and his brother Ernest C. Bodine in May 2001. All donations are asked to be sent to LST 709 Association, Attn: Betty Martin, 913 Eldorado Dr., Birmingham, Alabama 35235. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 8, 2001 at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery, Bargaintown. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8:00 PM at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home.

Whereas the newspaper reports his death on 31 August, the date of 2 September was reported to the Social Security Administration.
