Constance "Connie" Beazle (nee Bodine), 52, of Burton, died Dec. 6 at her home. Born Dec. 19, 1951, in Geneva, N.Y., she resided in Burton for 10 years and previously in Aurora and Russell. She married James Beazle on Sept. 21, 1975. An award-winning artist as well as co-owner, resident artist and teacher at A Garden's Way Gallery at Sunflowers Studio in Burton, she was a member of the Geauga County Arts Council and Geauga Artists Networking Group. The co-founder of the Arts Ministry at Burton Congregational Church where she was a member, she also was an avid gardener. Mrs. Beazle is survived by her husband; sisters, Bonnie (Rainey) Shufelt, of Coeymans, N.Y., Sara (Alan) Strauss, of Romulus, N.Y., and Dr. Andrea (Fred) Bodine Mensch, of Pittsfield, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mansel and Dorothy (nee Angel) Bodine. Memorial services were held Dec. 8 at Burton Congregational Church, and a private burial will be held in Bath, N.Y. James R. Beazle, 60, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at his residence. Born Sept. 26, 1952, in Canton, he was the son of the late John F. and M. Jane (Townsend) Beazle III. A longtime Geauga County, resident including the Burton area, he was a former member and deacon of the Burton Congregation Church, moving to Mantua in 2011. Mr. Beazle was a 1970 graduate of Shaker Heights High School, following which he attended and graduated from Mount Union College in 1974. He was self-employed in the accounting and financial sector of business. Mr. Beazle was an avid reader, enjoyed all forms of music, golfing, was a dedicated Cleveland Indians fan, yet his allegiance to football as a Mount Union "Purple Raiders" fan will always, along with his vivid sense of humor, be part of the legacy his life will be remembered for. Survivors include his siblings, John F. (Barbara) Beazle IV of Cohutta, Ga., Jeffrie (Robert) Leahy of Fitchburg, Wis., and Jo Ellen (John) Such of Newbury; many loving nieces and nephews; dear friend, Jerry "Hammer" Hammerton of Alliance; and his many longtime friends of the Mount Union Tail Gate Group. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance I. (Bodine) Beazle in 2004. No calling hours will be observed. Cremation has taken place with his final resting place to be at Nondaga Cemetery in Bath, N.Y. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
