Shirley Ann (Bodine), 73, of Southport, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Kenneth R. Mills, who she married on July 18, 1953. The couple had 54 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Shirley's life will be held after the visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home with Rev. William Lusk, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Shirley was born on November 30, 1934 in Burlington, PA. She was the daughter of the late Meldon and Lucille (Darrow) Bodine. She worked for the Artistic Card Company and later for Westinghouse in their Television Assembly Division. Shirley was Methodist by faith. To Shirley, family was everything. Her family includes her husband, Ken; her son, Daniel Richard (Karen) Mills of Alpine, NY; her daughters, Laurie Ann (Larry) Daigneau of Syracuse, NY, and Julie May (Paul) Berman of Elmira, NY; her grandchildren, Courtney and Corey Mills, Matthew Madorsky, Olivia, Elena and Aaron Daigneau, Sarah and Maxwell Berman; her brother, Duane (Kathy) Bodine of Bentley Creek, PA; her sisters, Marlene (Dick) Patton of Athens, PA and Betty (Bill) Swingle of Pine Grove, PA; her aunt, Louise Wheatley of Willington, DE; along with several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, David Wayne Mills, who passed away in 1958; and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Mills, who passed away in 1999. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley's name to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830 or the S.P.C.A. of Chemung County, 2435 St. Rt. 352, Elmira, NY 14903-7933 or to the charity of one's own choosing.
