Clinton---Miss Mary Compton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Compton of Pittstown, and Richard W. Bodine of Quakertown were married Saturday at Quakertown by the Rev. Fred Peterson, pastor of Quakertown Methodist Church.

Richard W. Bodine, 48, Quakertown, N.J., died this morning at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington. Born July 4, 1924, in Quakertown, he was a son of the late John R. and Ila Garrison Bodine. Mr. Bodine owned and operated an excavation company in Quakertown. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post in Flemington. Survivors include his widow, the former Mary Compton; three daughters, Mrs. Linda Mahler and Miss Jean Bodine, both of Newton, N.J., and Miss Susan Bodine, at home; a brother, John D., Quakertown, and a grandson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Douglas D. Martin Funeral Home, Clinton. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown.

QUAKERTOWN - Mary S. Bodine died on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, in Bristol Glen, Newton. She was 86. Born in Pittstown on Oct. 5, 1923, she was a daughter of Wilson and Marion Wright Compton. A resident of Newton since 2005, she had resided in Quakertown from 1946 to 2005. Mrs. Bodine was first employed by Commercial Dress Company, High Bridge, and then was employed by Hunterdon Transformer, Quakertown. A member of the first graduating class of the Franklin Township Elementary School, Quakertown, she also was a 1942 graduate of Flemington High School. Mrs. Bodine was a member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church, the Col. Lowery Chapter of the D.A.R., in Flemington, the Hunterdon Quilter's Guild, the Franklin Township Senior Citizens, the Rural Awareness Committee of Franklin Township and the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum, Delaware Township. Her husband, Richard Bodine, died in 1972. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Mahler of Newton, Jean Fivehouse of Randolph and Susan DeLay of Carmel Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services: Funeral services Wednesday, Nov. 25, 11 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington. Interment following in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown.
