Howard O. Bodine Jr., 89, of Salem Way, passed away on Monday, (December 31, 2007) at the Summit at Plantsville. He was the husband of the late Norma Mangold Bodine. Born on May 18, 1918, in Rochester, NY he was the son of the late Howard O. and Mae (Edwards) Bodine Sr. Howard had served in the Air Force during World War II and was a Pilot stationed in the Pacific theatre. He was employed by Pratt and Whitney and retired after 30 years. Howard had also volunteered his time with the Red Cross and The United Way. He is survived by his two daughters: Cheryl Frye and her husband David of New Hampshire and Becky Cano and her husband David of Southington; four grandchildren: Karin Jacoboski, Wendi Cappo, Julie Hull and Capt. Nathan Frye; seven great-grandchildren: Emily, Addison, Katelyn, Isabel, Griffin, Amelia and Harper; and several nieces and nephews. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. SOUTHINGTON - Norma M. Bodine, 85, of 16 Salem Way, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Summit in Plantsville. She was the beloved wife for 64 years of Howard O. Bodine. Born in Akron, Ohio, on Dec. 5, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hinkle) Mangold. Prior to her retirement she was a Library Aide at Kelly School for many years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and David Frye of Rye, N.H., and Becky and David Cano of Southington; four grandchildren, Karin Jacoboski, Wendi Cappo, Julie Hull and Capt. Nathan Frye; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Addison, Katelyn, Isabel, Griffin and Amelia; two sister, Margie Crabtree and Joye Payton, both of Ohio. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
