Notes for: Flora V. Bodine
From Ronny Bodine:
Flora Bodine, age 37 and single, was living 1900 with her parents in Hedgesville and employed as a seamstress. George Demmel registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sept 1918 in Youngstown reporting his birth date as 10 Sept 1880. In 1920-1930, George and Flora Demmel were living in Youngstown, Mahoning County where George repaired railroad cars in 1920 and worked in a railroad steam shop in 1930.
From Trumbull County, Ohio Marriage Records:
George Demmel, of Struthers, Ohio, age 29 on 10 Sept 1904, mill worker, born Olean, NY, son of Peter Dremmel & Margaret Zambourn AND Flora Bodine, of Warren, Ohio, age 34 on 5 March 1905, born in West Virginia, daughter of John Thomas Bodine & Margaret Johnson, were married 15 May 1905 by Rev. Franklin P. Reinhold. [Note: Margaret claimed she was born in March 1871, but in 1870 she was 7, in 1880 aged 17 and in 1900, her birth was reported as March 1863. George Demmel's birth was given as Sept 1878, age 22, in 1900, 29 in 1910, 39 in 1920 and 49 in 1930. Clearly, an age difference of 15 years between wife and husband was a delicate issue.]]
From Ohio Death Records:
