In June 1900, James and Emma Harris lived in Bridgeton, Cumberland County where James was employed as a glass flattener. He reported he and Emma had been married 9 years and Emma had borne 3 children of whom 2 lived. Yet, the household included 3 children-Maud 7, Charles W. 4 and Ethel May 3. In this census Ethel's birthdate was reported as July 1870, yet she was 2 years old in June 1870. At the time of her marriage her age was recorded as 22 and that of her husband as 19. In January 1920, Emma Harris, age 49, lived in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York. Her household included her son Charles, brother Thomas Bodine and his son George and niece Alice Thompson. In April 1930, Emma Harris, age 62, lived in Niagara Falls with her son Charles.
From the Pennsylvania Death Certificate of James Harris, born 20 June 1872 in New Jersey, died 21 Sept 1913 of pneumonia in Shinglehouse, Potter County and was buried at Shinglehouse. Mrs. Emma Harris, informant.

Mrs. Emma Harris, 71, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1939, at her home, 505 Cascadilla St. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gilbert's Undertaking Parlors, 125 E. Buffalo St., the Rev. John A Redmond, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Lake View Cemetery. Mrs. Harris is survived by one son, Charles of Niagara Falls; one daughter, Mrs. Maude Frederick of Ithaca; one brother, Thomas Bodine of Bridgeton, N.J. and one sister, Mrs. Hannah Brown of Coshocton, Ohio.
Children: Maud (Jan 1893), Charles W. (Aug 1895), Ethel May (Aug 1896).
