Obituary, Albany (Or.) Daily Democrat of 10 Jan 1917.
Mrs. Nellie Bodine, wife of S. S. Bodine, died yesterday in Mt. Tabor Sanitarium, Portland, aged about 44 years. She has been ill for a number of years, and seven years ago Mr. Bodine moved to Newport for the benefit of her health. Last Wednesday she was taken to the hospital in Portland, where she died yesterday. Mrs. Bodine was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wallace, and was born two and one-half miles east of the city. She spent most of her life in this neighborhood, where she was well and favorably known. Besides her husband and two children, Dorothea, aged 13 and Bertha, aged 11, she leaves five brothers, William Wallace, of New York; Walter Wallace, of Bremerton, Wash.; and Frank, Edward and Ralph Wallace, of California. The body will arrive in this city this evening on the 7:30 electric. Funeral arrangements will be made tomorrow.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Bodine, wife of S. S. Bodine, who died in Portland Tuesday, will be held from the Christian church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The remains were brought to Albany last evening and taken to the Fortmiller Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Bodine was 54 years old, having been born near Albany April 28, 1870.
