Bobby Lewis Allen, 83, of Bangs passed away peacefully on Feb. 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Bobby was born June13, 1933 in Hope, Arkansas. His family moved to the Rising Star/Williams area when Bobby was about two-weeks old. Already having family in Bangs, he moved his young family to Bangs in 1963 and has remained in Bangs since that time. He loved the Bangs community and especially The First Baptist Church Bangs where he was a member for many years. Bobby started work at Santa Fe Railroad at age 19 and worked there until his retirement in 1983. Bobby was a loving and supportive family man. Family meant everything to Bobby and he was very invested in his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces and nephews lives. Lastly, he was a devoted husband of 61-years to his adoring wife Betty Ann Bodine Allen. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Bertie and Floyd Allen; six brothers, RC (Jack), Tommy, A.M. (Buddy), Floyd (Jr.), Billy Earl, and Ernest Wayne (Red); one sister, Nancy; four special "double cousins"; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Bodine Allen of Bangs; daughter, Mylinda Thomas and husband Stephen of Bangs; son, Randy Allen and wife Lisa of Bangs; son, Shane Allen of Bangs; and brother, Larry Allen of Bangs. He leaves behind six grandchildren, Jillian Miller and husband Steve of Eagle Point, Oregon, Joshua Thomas and wife Mayra of Bangs, Michael Allen and wife Geri of Lubbock, Karen Lambert and husband Kevin of Brownwood, Vicky Coulter and special friend Chance of Lake Brownwood, and Hillary Evans of Dallas. Bobby also has 13 great-grandchildren including Mia, Madison and Maggie Miller, Abby and Isabella Thomas, Rylee Coulter, Xylla, Ryker, Nicholas, Noah, and Hayden Lambert, and Lane Hill. Bobby leaves behind special friends Gidget Gifford and her children Stacy, Alyssa and Shelby, as well as a host of other friends and family. The family would like to thank Bangs Nursing Home staff and Interim Hospice for their kindness and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations be made to your favorite charity, the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Funeral services will be held at the at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Bangs with burial to follow at Bangs Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
