Mrs. J. D. Bodine, wife of a farmer living three miles northwest of Loxa, died about three o'clock on Saturday afternoon, following an illness of only a few hours. Death was due to gall stone colic. The body was taken on Sunday to Mt. Vernon where burial was made. Mrs. Bodine was about forty years old and is survived by a husband and two sons. The family came to Coles county last spring from Jefferson county.

James David Bodine, 82, of 953 E. Mueller Ave., died at 9:25 a.m. yesterday at Decatur and Macon County Hospital. Bodine, a retired farmer, had lived in Decatur 32 years, coming here from Mt. Vernon. He was born Dec. 1, 1870, a son of Andrew Jackson and Ellen Watson Bodine and was married June 29, 1913 to Sylvia Kight in Charleston. He leaves his wife, five children, Mrs. Woodrow Waller, Mrs. Pearl Trimbey, Richard and Earl Bodine, all of Decatur, and Jay Bodine, Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Bowman, Decatur. Three children preceded him in death. The body is in the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call after 1 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Mrs. James (Sylvia P. Kight) Bodine, 90, of 1790 S. Fairview Ave., died 9:25 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 10, 1981) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Brintlinger's Pershing Funeral Home, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Mrs. Bodine was born in Mattoon, daughter of John and Laura Kight. She was a licensed practical nurse at Decatur Macon County Hospital and member of Hillside Bethel Tabernacle. She married James Bodine in 1912. He died n 1952. Surviving are her sons, Earl and Richard, both of Decatur; Jay of Chicago; daughter, Mrs. Woodrow (Lora Ellen) Waller of Decatur; 32 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren. Three sons, one daughter, one brother, two grandchildren and one great- grandchild preceded her in death.
