Jacob Bodine, landscape architect, died yesterday at his home, No. 802 Blossom road, aged 78 years. Mr. Bodine was an active worker until within two weeks of his death. Mr. Bodine was born in Holland and at the age of twenty-one years he came to this country. He made the voyage in a sailing vessel and spent twenty-seven days in the journey. He settled in Wayne county, but moved to Brighton thirty three years ago where he lived until his death. He had resided in the house where he died for twenty-seven years. He and his wife, Jeanette Corteville Bodine, celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary last September. Besides his wife he leaves seven daughters, Mrs. Ida Wolf, Mrs. C. Willink, Mrs. A DeWitt, Mrs. A Brandt, Mrs. J. Lash, Mrs. C. Wall and Mrs. J. Johnville all of this city; three sons, John Bodine of Syracuse; James Bodine, of Marion, and Benjamin Bodine of Nunda; twenty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock at Brighton Reformed Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

Mrs. Jeannette Bodine, of 15 Merwin Avenue, widow of Jacob Bodine, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Lash, Blossom Road, last evening. Mrs. Bodine leaves her sisters, Mrs. Mary Cornelius of East Palmyra and Mrs. Magadalene Dubois of East Williamson, and a brother, James Corteville of Rochester, and her children, John J. Bodine of Syracuse, Mrs. Benjamin J. Bodine of Nunda, and Mrs. Abram De Witt, James A. Bodine, Mrs. Albert Brandt, Mrs. James Lash, Mrs. Charles Wahl and Mrs. John Johnville. Mrs. Bodine was for 40 years a member of Brighton Reformed Church and was one of the charter members. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Services will be from her late home, 15 Marvin Avenue, and from Brighton Reformed Church at Arbordale Avenue and Blossom Road.
