Notes for: Cornelius C. Bodine
The Citizen Advertiser of Auburn, NY from Feb. 24, 1938 has a short obituary for a Cornelius Bodine who I guess to be this Cornelius Bodine. He died Friday, February 18, 1938 in Buffalo. Services were held Monday at the home of the pastor of Owasco Reformed Church. His widow survived him as well as a son Orville of Owasco.
Another article says the Cornelius who died in 1938 owned an old farm one mile south of Owasco Village in the town of Niles. It was a landmark farm with old colonial buildings. It had been purchased by Clarence and Paul Bresnan of Scipio after Cornelius's death.
Cornelius moved to Auburn where he worked refrigerating engineer assocatiated with the brewing industry in Auburn. He retired and was living on the family farm in Niles. He was selling lots for houses on his land in one newspaper. He must have had a lot of land and was selling that, but not the farm.
His obituary is in the Citizen Advertiser of Auburn, NY of Saturday, Feb. 19, 1938. It gives the death date, place, and burial date and place.
