BODINE, MARY JANE

Mary Jane Bodine, 88, of Naples, FL and Lake Geneva, WI, passed away on Nov. 19, 2005 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. A long time resident of River Forest, IL, Mary Jane was devoted to her family and a charming woman who contributed to her community and actively participated in her church and her children's schools. Born in Oak Park, IL on Dec. 23, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Zarr. She was predeceased by her husband, Royal J. Bodine on Oct. 3, 1997, whose career was in management with Bodine Electric Company of Chicago; loving mother of John Royal (Sherill) Bodine and and Elaine Leslie (James) Sima; fond grandmother of Heidi Maksimovic, Alan (Nora) Bodine, Jeffrey (Nancy) Stahl, Michael (Jolene) Bodine, Lauren (David) Sturgeon, Kate Bodine (Matt) Huff, and David Sima; great-grandmother of Andrew, Michael and Ryan Maksimovic, Olivia, Matthew, Kyle, Makayla and John William Bodine, Brendan and Ella Stahl and Skye Huff. A special thanks to the loving care provided by Arden Court and Hospice of Naples, Florida. Visitation Friday, Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. until time of service 10 a.m. at Peterson Funeral Home 6938 W. Royal John Bodine, 83, a former chairman and chief executive of Bodine Electric Co., a Chicago firm founded in 1905 by his father and uncle, died Friday in his River Forest home. A native of Chicago, Mr. Bodine served in the U.S. Army in the Pentagon and Europe during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; a son, John Royal; a daughter, Elaine Leslie Sima; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Peterson Funeral Home, 6938 W. North Ave., Chicago. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
