On 12 Sept 1918, Enos William Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Belvidere, Warren County. He reported he was a farmer and his next of kin was his wife Mrs. Irene Bodine, of Washington, Warren County. In 1910, he lived in Franklin Township and 1920 in Washington Township, Warren County with his wife and 2 sons. In 1930, he lived in Washington County with his wife, son Willard, and an adopted daughter, Clara K., age 25. His son John and his wife Edith lived next door. In 1942, Enos Bodine, a resident of Washington Township, Warren County, registered for the World War II draft. He reported he had been born 24 May 1881 in Pleasant Valley, New Jersey and his next of kin was his brother John Bodine, also of Washington Township. Irene (Kries) Bodine was the daughter of Samuel and Matilda (Seipel) Kries.

Funeral services for Enos W. Bodine, father of Warren County Clerk John M. Bodine, were held at his late home Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Harold E. Davis of the Washington Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment was in Washington Cemetery. Mr. Bodine, who was 72, died on Thursday, February 18, 1954 at his home where he spent his entire life. A farmer, he was a past master of the Washington Grange. He was also a member of the State and National Granves, the Warren Pomona Grange, the Jr. O.U.A.M. and the Sons and Daughters of Liberty of Washington. In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Kries Bodine; another son, Willard A. Bodine, and a daughter, Mrs. Clara B. Fitts, both of rural Washington; three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Edith Fisher of Washington.

Mrs. Irene Bodine, 87, Washington R.D. 1, N.J., died yesterday in Warren Hospital after a short illness. Born in Montana, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Matilda Kries. Her husband, Enos W. Bodine, died in 1954. She was a member of Washington Presbyterian Church, the American Advocate Council 64, Sons and Daughters of Liberty, Washington; Osage Council 110, Pocohontas Lodge, Washington; Pomona Grange 110, Warren County, and the state and national granges. She was a 50-year member of Washington Grange 117. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ellis Fitts, Washington R.D. 1; three halfbrothers, Samuel, Levi and Paul Kries, and two halfsisters, Mrs. David Reese and Mrs. Raymond Cole, all of Washington; three grandsons and five great-grandchildren. A son, John M. Bodine, died in 1962 and another son, Willard A. Bodine, died in 1960. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Devoe Funeral Home, Washington. Interment will be in Washington Cemetery.
