Quentin E. Bodine, 83, died Jan. 14 in his Amity Township residence. He was the husband of Grace L. (Longenberger) Bodine. Born in Numidia, Columbia County, he was a son of the late Kimber F. and Susan (Carmitchell) Bodine. Bodine had been employed as a heavy equipment engineer with Operating Engineers Local 542, Philadelphia. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Birdsboro. Bodine was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving a number of awards, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Bodine is survived by three daughters: Denise R. (Bodine) Reinert and Debra K. (Bodine) Miller, both of Boyertown; and Jean L. (Bodine) Seivard, Birdsboro. Other survivors include a brother, James F., Bloomsburg, Columbia County. There are also six grandchildren. Memorial services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, Dengler Funeral Home Inc., Birdsboro, is in charge of arrangements.

Grace L. (Longenberger) Bodine, 87, Amity Twp., died of natural causes November 5, 2012 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the widow of Quentin E. Bodine. Born in Roaring Creek Twp., Columbia County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton Longenberger and the late Mary Alice (Trexler) Longenberger. She was self employed as a beautician and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Surviving are 3 daughters: Jean L. Seivard of Reading, Denise R., wife of Larry D. Reinert, of Boyertown, and Debby, wife of Bill Miller, of Boyertown; 6 grandchildren: Steve, Beth, Brett, Clay, Jil, and Vince; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Ruth Longenberger and Elva Lynn; and 3 brothers: Art, Billy and Roy Longenberger. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be on Sat. from 10:00-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan Karnell Cancer Center at Pennsylvania Hospital, 230 W. Washington Square, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 honoring Grace's niece, Joan Karnell, or to the Nemours Fund for Childrens' Health, Shards House, at A.I. DuPont Childrens' Hospital, 100 Rockland Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803, honoring Great-Grandson, Dillon. Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., Birdsboro, is in charge of the arrangements.
