Duane Bodine enlisted in the U.S. Army on 23 Nov 1945 in Snohomish County, Wash. At the time he was unmarried. Everett City Directories for 1944, 1947 and 1948 list Duane as a resident, but not with a wife.

Duane E. "Duke" Bodine, 70, of Cle Elum passed away Friday, April 1, 1994, at his home. He was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Everett, a son of Eugene and Edna Mae (Logan) Bodine. He received his education in Everett. He served for 13 years in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Bodine and Irene L. Keller were married Oct. 1, 1957, in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. He was employed by Bering Sea Fisheries as a purchasing agent. He was associated with and managed the Everett Sportsman through the 1960s. He and his wife owned and operated Mineral Springs Resort from April 1, 1969, until September 1981. Mr. Bodine was a member of the Eagles, the American Legion, the Moose and the Everett Sportsman. He was an avid hunter. Survivors include his wife, Irene; sister Bernice Mallon of Marysville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Kittitas County, 603 S. Chestnut, Ellensburg, Wash., 98926 or to charity of choice. A memorial open house will be held for family and friends at Mrs. Bodine's home on May 1, 1994, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Duke was cremated and his ashes were spread on a ridge where he bagged his biggest elk. Irene L. Bodine was born March 9, 1920 in Beulah, North Dakota, daughter of parents Olga and David Keller. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Duane "Duke" Bodine in 1994. She is survived by her sister, Hedwig Conard and husband Dean of Hemet, California; three brothers, Albin Keller of Billings, Montana, William Keller of Beulah, North Dakota, Eugene Keller and wife Helen of Mandan, North Dakota; and sister-in-law, Irene Keller of Snohomish, Washington. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, many good friends, and her faithful four-footed companion, Stormy. Irene loved life and enjoyed her nights out at Bingo. At her request, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation arrangements by Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish.
