James F. "Bo" Bodine, 65, born on Christmas day in 1935, in Port Arthur, TX, passed away peacefully with family and friends to be with his Lord, on Monday, September 17, 2001, after a 4 year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Louis and Franklynn Myra Bodine, and brother Robert Bodine. He is survived by his wife Dianne Bodine; son Greg Bodine and wife Leah; daughters Karen Bodine, Kristi Bodine and fiancé Jason Welch, and Kim Mitchell and husband Mike; brother Dan Bodine and wife Helen; sister Pat Drummond and husband Don; grandchildren Kristin and Jacob Petty and Michael Mitchell; beloved aunt Abbe Rose Cox; cousin Tommy "The Old Master" Bodine; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. James retired from Lubrizol Corporation in Deer Park, TX in 1999, where he was a very dedicated employee for 39 years. The hobby he loved the most was what gained him so many friends, rebuilding engines and transmissions. Spending time with family and friends and attending ballgames were very important to him. He loved to fish, boat ride, ride Wave Runners and play 42 while on vacation at Lake Conroe, where he served as a member on the Board of Directors at The Landing at Seven Coves. He also served in the Army National Guard of Texas. James never met a stranger. His big smile and kind heart will be forever missed by his family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Christopher Wood and his staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The family will receive friends from 5 until 9:00 P.M. Thursday, September 20, 2001 in Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M.
