Notes for: Benjamin Franklin ("Frank") Bodine

I have that he died in January 1976 in Pennsville, Salem Co., NJ. There is another Frank Bodine (born 23 Nov 1906 and died 18 Dec 1981) who might be the Benjamin Frank Bodine who belongs to this family, but that is probably not correct.

From Ronny Bodine:

There has been confusion in distinguishing between two Frank Bodines, born 2 years apart in New Jersey, one the son of Andrew Horner Bodine, living in Gloucester and later in Cumberland County and the second, the son of Albert Jamison Bodine, living in Salem County. The Frank Bodine of this account was twice married, his 2nd wife being Annie Biederman, frequently named as the wife of the other Frank Bodine. But in her 2004 obituary, Annie Biederman Bodine is named as the widow of "B. Frank" who died in 1976. The other Frank Bodine, son of Andrew, was "Frank L. Bodine."

In 1910, he was Frank B. Bodine, aged 2, in 1915 he was Frank B. Bodine born in Feb 1908, in 1920 he was Frank Bodine, aged 12 and in 1930, as Frank Bodine, aged 21, he was married to Lucy for 1 year and lived in Salem County.

From New Jersey Death Records:
Benjamin F. Bodine of Lower Penns Neck Twp., Salem County, died 25 Jan 1976 in Mannington Twp., Salem County.

1st marriage--1928--ETHEL MARGUERITE HUNTER.
In 1915, Ethel M. Hunter, born Oct 1915 in NJ, lived with her parents, William and Anna Hunter, in Salem County, New Jersey and did so also in 1920, aged 9, in Lower Pennsneck, Salem County.

From Maryland Marriage Records:
Benjamin Franklin Bodine AND Ethel Marguerite Hunter were married 3 Nov 1928 in Elkton, Cecil County.

From The Daily Journal of Vineland (NJ) of 19 March 1938:
Ethel M. Bodine, Deepwater, said her husband, Benjamin, left her in January, 1936, following their marriage in November, 1928, at Elkton. The decree was withheld until her testImony was corroborated.

From The Daily Journal of Vineland (NJ) of 26 March 1938:
A decree was advised for Ethel M. Bodine, of Deepwater, a waitress, who charged her husband, Benjamin F. Bodine, of Pennsgrove, with desertion on January 4, 1936. They were married on November 3, 1928.

Note: Since Frank was married to Ethel from 1928 to 1936, Lucy who appears as his wife in 1930 must be the same as Ethel unless Frank lived separately from Ethel and Lucy was not his wife but rather his companion.

1940 Upper Penns Neck Twp., Salem Co., NJ: Ethel HUNTER 27 NJ div housekeeper for Charles Sorenson.
