Notes for: John Bodine
From Ronny Bodine:
John Bodine served as administrator of his mother's estate in 1773. On 6 May 1777, he was serving as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 5th Company, 5th Battalion, Bucks County Militia. On 13 Aug 1778, he took the oath of allegiance renouncing any allegiance to Great Britain. In 1779 he was the only Bodine to appear on that year's tax list, a resident of Bristol Township, in possession of 59 acres of land, 3 horses, 5 cattle, but no servants. In 1790, he was the only Bodine in the Bucks County census with a family including 5 males aged under 16 years. As he appears to have been the head of the only Bodine family in Bucks County, the following were undoubtedly his children. His marriage to Rebecah Bressfoard took place in the Presbyterian Church of Newtown, Bucks County.
