I did have that he was born in Bethpage, TN, but his WWI registration says Chipman. That is a small community near Bethpage; so we will go with that.

Thomas Alvin Bodine registered for the World War I draft on 5 June 1917 in Gray County. He stated he was born 24 Dec 1895 in Chipman, Tenn and was married with two children. In 1942, as a resident of Portsmouth, Norfolk County, Virginia, he registered for the World War II stating he was born 24 Dec 1893 in Bethpage, Tenn. and was now employed in the Norfolk Navy Yard. He was buried in Dudley Cemetery, Satanta, Haskell County, Kansas. In 1920-1930, the Bodine family lived in Tucumcari, Quay County, New Mexico. In 1920, Tom was employed as a garage mechanic.

SATANTA - Mrs. Willie Pearl Bodine, 87, died Thursday at Satanta Senior Citizen's Home. Born Willie Pearl Phillips, Feb. 22, 1893, at Poolville, Texas, she married Thomas A. Bodine Sr.. Sept 19,1913, at McLean, Texas. Mrs. Bodine had lived at Haskell County since 1942, moving from Borger, Texas. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Satanta. Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Thomas A. Jr., Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. LaVerne Campbell, Portsmouth, Va., and Mrs. Gail Hale, Satanta; a foster-daughter, Mary Lou Smith, Cucamonga, Calif.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; five step-greatgrandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Rollin Dillinger officiating. Burial will be at Dudley Township Cemetery, Satanta. Friends may call Friday, Saturday and until 9 p.m. Sunday at Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette. Family suggests memorials to the Satanta Ambulance Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home or the Satanta drug store.

SATANTA - Janice Angell Bodine, 86, died Nov. 5, 1990, at the Long Term Care Unit, Satanta. She was born March 5, 1904, at Renfrow, Okla., the daughter of A.G. and Cora Lou Hedden Williamson. A resident of Satanta since 1920, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Santee Club, the Owaissa Club, the United Methodist Women, and the 2-4 Bridge Club, all at Satanta. On June 3, 1923, she married Raymond Frank Angell at Satanta. He died March 11, 1980. She later married Tom Bodine on April 26, 1981, at Satanta. He survives. Other survivors include: a son, Chad Angell, Manhattan; a daughter, Loretta J. Fabrizius, Hutchinson; a stepson, Thomas A. Bodine Jr., Amarillo, Texas; two stepdaughters, Gail Hale, Satanta, and Laverne Campbell, Portsmouth, Va.; a sister, Inez Stouder, Topeka; six grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren ; 10 step -grandchildren; 16 step-greatgrandchildren; and two step-greatgreat-grandsons. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Satanta, with the Rev. Harlan Rittgers presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette. Burial will be in the Dudley Township Cemetery, Satanta. Survivors include: one son, Thomas A. Jr., Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, LaVerne Campbell, Portsmouth, Va., and Gail Hale, Satanta; one stepson, Chad Angel, Manhattan; one stepdaughter, Loretta J.
