Notes for: William Wallace Bodine

I am guessing that the William W. Bodine found in the 1880 Census of Valley Brook, Osage Co., KS is this William Bodine. The data from that census seems to match well with this William. The census info gave me his wife's name and his two children as well as birth places for all four.

From Ronny Bodine (Oct. 10, 2020):

From Osage County, Kansas Marriage Records:
W.W. Bodine AND Jennie Norris were married 2 July 1874 in Lyndon by O. H. Call.

William W. Bodine, 29, a teamster, lived June 1880 in Valley Brook Township, Osage County, Kansas with his wife Jennie E. 31 and children Guy L. 9 and Minnie E. 2. In March 1885, the Kansas State Census recorded him living in Lyndon, Osage County, Kansas and by March 1895 the family was no longer living in Kansas. By June 1900, Jennie Bodine was widowed and living with her two children in Westminster, Orange County, California where the census noted she was an invalid. In April 1910, Jennie E. Bodine, age 63, lived with her children in Long Beach, Los Angeles County. She reported she had borne 3 children and 2 were then living. In Jan 1920, Jennie Bodine was 74 years old living in Long Beach with her two children.

DIED---Wm. Bodine died very suddenly yesterday morning. He had been under the Dr's care for several months, but had been able to be around town until a few days before his death. Few men had more friends than Mr. Bodine. His wife and child have the sympathy of the entire community. His remains will be buried in the Lyndon cemetery to-day.
