Jacobus Demarest and his brothers, Daniel and Benjamin, married
DeGroot sisters: Lea, Rebecca, and Lysbeth, respectively.
As of 1938 the old Dutch family Bible of Jacobus was in the possession
of Miss Margaret Demarest or Oradell, NJ, the record in Dutch dating
from 1707.
Jacobus and Lea DeGroot had 6 children: David, Peter, Rachel, Belitje,
Maria and Benjamin Demarest.
He married 2d Margrietje Haring on 13 Oct 1719. They had 10 children:
John, Lea, Gerrit, Samuel, Jacobus, Maria, Lydia, Peter, Daniel and
Abraham Demarest.
