Notes for: Charles Wesley Bordine
In the personal histories from "History of Monroe County, Michigan" (1890) on page 16 we read that Charles was born at his parents' home in Oakville, Washtenaw Co., MI. After marrying, he lived in Exeter Township and settled on the "Old Johnson farm" (120 acres) where they built a log house and barn. Charles enlisted in the service in 1864 in Company A, 28th, Michigan, Volunteer Infantry. He was a Republican and a member of Baker Post 200, G.A.R. at Carleton. His tombstone says 1841-1909, Co. A, 21 Mich. Inf.
