WALTON---Mildred Van Akin Bodine, 69, died November 6 at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton, after a short illness. The funeral is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, at the Clark Funeral Home, Walton, the Rev. Gerald W. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery. She was born Oct. 8, 1898, at Lower Loomis Brook, Town of Tompkins, the daughter of Harry B. and Hattie L. (Figary) Van Akin. She was married to LeRoy A. Bodine, June 19, 1918, in the town of Tompkins. Mrs. Bodine was a housewife and lived in Lower Loomis Brook all her life. She was a member of the Ladies Home Bureau. Survivors include her husband; one son, Harry, of Franklin; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Smith of Delhi, Mrs. John (Doris) Marsico of Walton; Mrs. Henry (Florence) Kozlowski, Unadilla; and Mrs. Charles (Ruth) North of Franklin; also her mother, Mrs. Harry B. Van Akin of Lower Loomis Brook; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home from 24 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

WALTON - LeRoy A. Budine, 76, a life-time resident of the area and a retired dairy farmer, died Saturday, Jan. 25, at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton. He was born Dec. 8,1898, in Walton, a son of Burton and Fannie (Williams) Budine. He was married to Mildred E. Van Akin June 19, 1918 in Loomis Brook, Walton. She died in 1967. Mr. Budine had operated his own farm in Loomis Brook for more than 50 years before moving to the Village of Walton two years ago. Also he had been an automobile mechanic for the D.W. Coulter, Bronson and Smith Motors and Vail Motors, all in Walton. He is survived by a son, Harry B. Budine of Unadilla; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Smith of Delhi; Mrs. John (Doris) Marsico of Walton; Mrs. Henry (Florence) Kozlowski of Bainbridge and Mrs. Charles (Ruth) North of Franklin; four brothers, Harry Budine of Pines Brook, Walton, Raymond Budine of Apalachin, Clifton Budine of Binghamton and Burtis Budine of Walton; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Christina) Burghart of Walton; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in the Clark and Knorr Funeral Home, Walton, with the Rev. Eugene F. Willis, pastor of St. John the Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be later in Walton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clark and Knorr Funeral Home, Walton, at their convenience. The family will be in attendance from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
