Hello Again,

I just got home from a family funeral in Ohio and am doing laundry so that we can take off in the morning for a visit with our son in Springfield, MO.

As it happens, I stood before the graves of Amos and Llydia just this morning.

You are correct with the dates. I found the obit newspaper clipping again and Amos Bodine was 75 yrs. 2 mo. and 12 da. old. We have a picture of his grave stone and it reads: Bodine Amos 1853 - 1928. I had a typing error in my Family Tree Maker records. Thanks for telling me.

All of the material above was given to the stone engraver and the news papers by his only living daughter at that time (Clara Bodine Shaw.)

Unfortunately, if you are remembering your dates correctly, it appears that your Amos isn't our Amos. We just cannot seem to find any information beyond this. Our Amos was born in Dudley Township, Hardin Co., Ohio.

My husband, Carlos Bodine and I were both born in Hardin Co., Ohio, was raised and married there. We then spent 36 years in Collinsville, IL (just across the Mississippi R. from St. Louis, MO). My husband was with the Army Depot in St. Louis. He retired 10 yrs ago. In January of this year, we relocated to Louisville, KY to be near our daughter, due to my failing health.

I'm still hoping you can make some connection for us.

Awaiting your reply,
Patsy Bernice Bodine

Bernice said that the Bodines from Kenton, Ohio pronounce their name "Bow-dine."
