Notes for: Sarah E. Bodine
Sarah was living with her mother and brothers and sister in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan at the time of the 1860 and 1870 Censuses.
She and John Miller had one son, Ned P. Miller. He was born August 19, 1880 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Her obituary reads:
Mrs. Sarah Miller, wife of John F. Miller, 18 Arthur-st, died this morning at 10:10 o'clock, of a stomach affection, after an illness of 11 weeks. Besides her husband, a son, Ned P. Miller survives her. Mrs. Miller was indeed an estimable lady, having the friendship and sincere regard of many. Her character was one of exceptional sweetness, and those who knew her felt that they had been highly privileged. Her loss is one that will be deeply felt and remembered long. The bereaved husband and son have the sympathy of Battle Creek in their sorrow. Mrs. Miller was born in Brooklyn, N. Y., in the year 1854, and her brothers, George W. Bodine of Chicago, and B. Frank Bodine, 30 Goguac-st east, this city; and a sister, Mrs. Eugene Reynolds of South Haven, are also left to mourn her loss. She had lived in this city for over 25 years, during which time Ned P. Miller was born. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence, 18 Arthur-st, Rev. William S. Potter officiating. Interment will be made at Oakhill. The immediate relatives of Mrs. Miller are now in the city to attend the services.
