Notes for: Adam Lawrence Bodine

There is an Adam and Rachel Bodine in the 1860 Census of Montgomery, Orange Co., NY. He is 65 and born in New York. She is 62 and born in New York. I don't have that census, but it looks like they must be man and wife. I don't have any other Adam Bodine born about 1795; so I wonder if that isn't this Adam Bodine. Maybe he married a second wife named Rachel. He had either divorced by 1860 or his first wife had died. Yes, see Ronny's notes below.

From Ronny Bodine (Feb. 2, 2021):

From War of 1812 Pension Application of Adam L. Bodine, WC 4533:
Adam L. Bodine served as a Private in Capt. Blake's Company of New York Militia from 18 Aug 1814 to 22 Nov 1814. He died 12 May 1865 in Montgomery. His widow was formerly Esther Gouchens who married Adam L. Bodine in Scotchtown, Orange County in Nov 1814. Esther Bodine was a resident of Washingtonville, Orange County in 1871. [Note: The marriage date must be in error as son Hezekiah was born about 1811, unless there was an earlier marriage of Adam's.]

2nd marriage--1854--RACHEL.
The Whig Press (Middletown, N.Y.) of 4 Oct 1854 reported the marriage on 7 Sept 1854 at Scotchtown (Orange County) of Adam L. Bodine, 62, and Mrs. Rachel Crist, 66, both residents of Keysertown [sic = Kaisertown, Orange County).
