Notes for: Wilfred Albert Bodine
Wilfred (or Willford / Wilford) resided in Kalamazoo, Michigan at the time of his marriage in 1912. His name might be spelled Wilford on his mother's application for naturalization. Max Lofton (mnmr at email.msn.com) has info on a Bodine/Sparks scrapbook that has pictures of this family and many other relatives. His message is copied below:

I have a scrapbook "composed" in 1944 that is titled "Bodine Family History". I do not recall how I came to possess this scrapbook, but I am sure that I purchased it here in California at a swapmeet or as I traveled in the Ohio area approximately 30 years ago.
It is a collection of over 75 photographs between 1871 and 1941. Almost every picture has a handwritten caption.
Surnames mentioned include: Bodine, Sparks, Burhans, Kinder, Howe, Mussels, and Brooks.
Places include: Kalamazoo, Mich.; Lansing, Mich.; Grand Junction, Colo.; Charlotte, Mich.; and South Haven, Mich.
I collect old photographs and love looking at this scrapbook. However I am willing to part with it under the right conditions, one of which is: it must go to someone who is related to this branch of the Bodine family.

In April 1930, Wilfred and Pauline Bodine lived in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California. In April 1940, Wilford Bodine lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan and was divorced. In 1942 he lived in Kilgore, Gregg County, Texas where he registered for the World War II draft stating he was born 11 July 1887 in Allegen County, Michigan.
1st--From Allegan County, Michigan Marriage Records:
Willford Bodine, 21, of Cheshire Township, born in Cheshire Township, son of George Bodine & Ellen Morey AND Anna Caniff, 19, of Cheshire Township, born in Cheshire Township, dau. of Edward Caniff & Hattie Hayes, were married 7 Jan 1908 in Allegan by Eugene D. Nash, J.P.
From Michigan Divorce Records:
Wilford Bodine, 20 AND Anna Bodine, 18, who were married 7 Jan 1908 in Allega, were divorced 4 Nov 1908 in Allegan County. [Note: In Jan 1910, Anna was again living with her parents.]
2nd--From Kalamazoo County, Michigan Marriage Records:
Wilfred Bodine, 25, of Kalamazoo, born in Michigan, son of George Bodine & Helen Morey AND Dessa Sparks, 19, of Kalamazoo, born in Indiana, dau. of E. Sparks & Lovicy Gunn, were married 23 Dec 1912 in Kalamazoo, by G. P. Hopkins, Judge of Probate. [Note: Dessie was the daughter of Emerson Barber and Lovicy (Gunn) Sparks.]
From Michigan Divorce Records:
Wilfred A. Bodine AND Dessie Pearl Bodine, who were married 23 Dec 1912 in Kalamazoo, Michigan were divorced there 29 June 1916. [Note: On 16 June 1917, Dessie Sparks Bodine married Jesse Legrand Brooks in Lawton, Van Buren County, Michigan.]
