On pages 580-591 of the "Final Record," book 6, in the Marshall County, Alabama Courthouse is the estate settlement of Claborn Whitworth, Sr. He died at the age of 65. He was born in North Carolina. He left five children to wit: John Whitworth, of age, and residing in Lincoln, County, Tennessee; William Whitworth, of age, and living in Missouri; Claborn Whitworth, Jr. (27, Tn) of age, residence unknown; Joseph Whitworth, of age, and living in Marshall County, Alabama; Margaret Whitworth, (23, Tn) who married David Collins, now deceased, residing in Marshall County, Alabama. One grandchild, Sarah R. McWilliams, was also mentioned. She was the daughter of John McWilliams and Nancy Whitworth, who died in 1850. Sarah R. McWilliams married Benjiman R. Swords. James M. He was a Primitive Baptist elder and performed a number of marriages in this area.
