Notes for: Susannah (or Catherine) Bodine

It is unclear if the Susanna, aged 38, on the 1880 Census is the same as this Susannah Bodine. The ages do not match.

From Ronny Bodine:

Joseph Whitworth was a farmer, according to the Marshall County censuses of 1860-1880. The dates of birth and death for both are from the Andrew Whitworth family Bible in possession of a great-granddaughter, Lula Bell Wright Maze.

Their Marshall County marriage record notes the couple as Joseph Whitter and Susan Bodine. James Bodine gave his consent for his daughter Susannah.

Joseph Claiborne made a deed to the Browns Creek Church with the stipulation that if the property ceased to be a church it would revert back to him or his heirs. The Bodine reunions held in July each year take place on this property.

Children: Claiborn (12 Dec 1837), Catherine (20 Aug 1839), Martin P. (18 Sep 1841), Joseph (3 Nov 1843), Mary C. (14 Feb 1845), Nancy Ann (26 Dec 1846), Andrew (16 Aug 1851), James (17 July 1853), Martha 'Mattie' (21 Nov 1854), Margaret (31 July 1855).
