Mr. W. L. Scott AND Miss Irena J. Bodine were married 4 Dec 1881 by J. B. Gilliland, D.D.

Children: Edward Bodine (17 Sept 1882 in Henrietta, Clay Co., Texas). He registered for the World War I draft in Oklahoma City on 12 Sept 1918 stating that his next of kin was W. L. Scott of Mulhall (Logan Co.), Oklahoma. When Edward Bodine Scott applied for a SSN in November 1936, he named his parents William L. and Rena (Bodine) Scott. In the June 1890 Oklahoma Territorial census, Wm. L. Scott 34 OH with his son Edward B. 7 TX lived in Stillwater, Payne County and on 1 June 1893 in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma Territory, William Scott married Ella Willmetta Merydith. It seems clear that Irene died between the birth of her son in 1882 and the 1890 Oklahoma Territorial census. In so far as Edward was their only child, one might conclude she died in childbirth.
