In 1850, Richard Bodine, age 28, lived with his parents in Rush County, Indiana. In 1855, he married in Richland Township, Shelby County, Illinois and lived there all of the remainder of his life. In 1900, Richard Bodine, age 78, lived in Richland Township. Elizabeth, age 65, his wife of 45 years lived with him as did 3 unmarried children. Elizabeth had borne 9 children of whom 7 were then living. Their son Eli Bodine was living next door. In April 1910, Richard Bodine, age 99, and his wife Elizabeth, age 75, lived in Richland Township in the home of their son Eli and his family. It was reported that of Elizabeth's 9 children, 7 were still alive.

Shelbyville, Ill., June 22.--Mrs. Elizabeth Bodine died Tuesday and was buried at this place Wednesday. She was the widow of Richard Bodine, who died less than a year ago. Mrs. Bodine was a native of Tuscarawas county, Ohio, thought she has been a resident in Illinois since childhood. She was married to Mr. Bodine April 16, 1855, and became the mother of nine children, seven of whom survive.
