Notes for: Jacob Bodine, Sr.

He was baptized at the house of his grandfather, Issac Burbank by Rev. John C. Bechler. His marriage record says that he was the grandson of Isaac and Sarah Burbank and that his wife was the daughter of Nathaniel (dec.) and Maria Garrettson. The will of John Blake mentions him as the son of Vincent Bodine, who was the son of Jane Poillon. John was Jane's brother.

Jacob was a farmer in the 1880 Census of Cook Co., IL.

The death certificate of Jacob Bodine (1854-1938) names his parents as Vincent Bodine and Sarah Jorolemon. Vincent Bodine died six months after his son was born and it appears that Jacob was raised by a relative, Jacob Bodine (1826-1909) and his wife, Harriet Emily, who had no children of their own.
