Notes for: Vincent V. Bodine, Jr.

He is mentioned in his father's will. His death record says, "Vincent Bodine, son-in-law of Isaac Burbank."

Vincent Bodine died of consumption and was buried in the Moravian Church Cemetery, Richmond County. Mary Ann Burbank was the daughter of Isaac and Sally (Egbert) Burbank. Mary Ann married 2ndly, Stephen Martling on 15 March 1832, at the Moravian Church. She was buried in the Moravian Church Cemetery. On 7 March 1831, Jacob Burbank was appointed guardian of the minor children, Jacob and Vincent Bodine (Richmond Co. Guardianships 1: 219). Vincent Bodine served as Town Clerk of Castleton, 1811-1825. The will of Vincent Bodine, yeoman, of Castleton, dated 30 Dec 1830, was proved 2 May 1831 and named his wife Mary, children Jacob and Vincent, both minors, and "such other as may be born." Contingent gift of 1/3 to the heirs of his brother John Bodine, 1/3 to Mary, wife of Nathan Britten, and 1/3 to the heirs of his father-in-law, Isaac Burbank. Executors were his wife, Mary Ann Bodine and Isaac Burbank, his father-in-law (Richmond Co. Wills D: 77). On 18 April 1836, Isaac Burbank, executor of Vincent's estate, Mary Ann Martling, widow of Vincent Bodine, and Stephen Martling, now her husband, sold a lot and dwelling in Castleton, known as Bodine's Tavern, to Jacob Mersereau (Richmond Co. Deeds 3: 167).
