Notes for: William Fox Bodine
The source for his death date and place may be "G.A.R." This is listed on the groupsheet for Peter Bodine in the Best & Bodine data. I believe this family is in the 1880 Census of Columbia Co., PA.
William Fox Bodine is buried in the Hill Side Cemetery in Catawissa, PA. I did not see his wife anywhere near him in the transcription (LDS film 953716). His tombstone says
1844-1919
Cap. Co. H. 28 Reg't.
He must have been a chaplain in one of the wars.
In the same cemetery is a Margaret Bodine Berninger 1844-1912 (wife of Tobias) and a Tobias D. Berninger 1842-?. They had a son, Albert L. Berninger Dec. 12, 1887 - May 15, 1892 (son of Tobias). I don't know how Margaret might be related to William. I believe there were also many Fox's buried in this cemetery. There seemed to be a lot of Fox's in Columbia County.
Someone has said that William married a Caroline M. Knapp. I have her as "Callie" Knapp. They are probably the same person.
