Peter LaForge Jr enlisted as a Private in Company A, 13th Illinois Infantry Regiment (USA) on 1 June 1861 and was mustered out 18 June 1864 at Springfield, Illinois. See the obituary of Peter La Forge in the Reno "Evening Gazette" of 11 Jan 1904.

Children: George Clinton (6 Dec 1866), Robert (20 Sept 1868), Vincent (17 Aug 1870), Effie (26 June 1874).
