Notes for: Isaac M. Bodine
There are a number of people married by an I. M. Bodine at the Tioga Co., PA GenWeb site. He was a justice of the peace.

Died In the village, Jan. 27, 1878, Mary, wife of I,M, Bodine, Esq., and the late daughter of Hezekiah Stowell, aged 36 years.
Died The death of Mrs. I.M. Bodine occurred on Sunday morning last. She had a severe attack of Sciatic Rheumatism - - the disease had evidently attacked the heart, Mrs. Bodine was the daughter of the late Hezekiah Stowell, and was born in Shippen Township in 1842. In 1863 she was united in marriage to Isaac M. Bodine. Survivors - - husband and two interesting children; an aged Mother, her brothers, H. Stowell, Jr., Devillo Stowell and Thomas Stowell; and a sister, Mrs. John Bache. The funeral was from St. Paul's church - - -Rev. Dr. Breck officiating.

Isaac M. of Wellsboro, born 2-04-1830. Educated in the common schools of the boro. Clerked in the store of C. & J.L. Robinson, then traveled through the South (1850-51). Upon his return to Wellsboro he took the position of superintendent of the mines at Blossburg, Pa. where he had charge of the company store and acted as paymaster for 8 years. now operated by S. A. Hiltbold. The same year he also purchased the farm in the northwestern part of the borough upon which he now lives, and during recent years has devoted his attention to farming. Mr. Isaac M. Bodine was married September 9, 1863 to Mary E. Stowell, a daughter of Hezekiah and Anna Stowell, and has two children:

Mayne C., employee of the Fall Brook Coal Company
Mrs. Isaac M. Bodine died January 26th, 1876 at age 35. In politics Mr. Bodine was an old line Whig until the organization of the Republican party with which he affiliated. In religion he is an adherent of the Protestant Episcopal Church. He served a number of years as deputy sheriff, 15 years as a justice of the peace, and has filled various boro offices.

In 1880, I. M. Bodine, now widowed, was living in Wellsboro with his two children. He was then serving as a Justice of the Peace.

Mr. Isaac M. Bodine, aged 70, who was born in this borough, where he spent most of his life, died suddenly of heart disease at 9 o'clock Monday evening at his home here. He had suffered with heart disease for two years, but he was able to be out of doors on Monday, and ate with a good appetite, especially at supper. His death occurred shortly after he had retired.
Mr. Bodine was a son of Ellis M. and Margaret (Shearer) Bodine. He was educated in the borough schools. In 1848 he entered the store of Messrs C. & J. L. Robinson and was employed there two years. In '50 and '51 he traveled through the South prospecting. After his return North he became superintendent of the Blossbure mines, where he had charge of the company store and was paymaster eight years. He returned here in 1860 and built the sawmill on Queen street, and the same year he bought the farm in the northwestern part of the borough which was his home thereafter.
Mr. Bodine married in 1863 Miss Mary E. Stowell, daughter of Hezekiah and Anna Stowell. His wife died 24 years ago, leaving two children, Mr. Mayne C. Bodine, of Corning, and Anna, wife of Mr. Clarence E. Shumway, of Corning. Both children survive their father.
Mr. Bodine was a Republican who took an active interest in politics. He served 15 years as Justice of the Peace and had filled successively various borough offices. He also was Deputy Sheriff several years.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. William Heakes, will be held from Mr. Bodine's home at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
