The 1892 New York State Census showed Cora Bodine, age 20, living with Arlington and Jennie Bicksler in Alden, Erie County.
From Erie County, New York Marriage Records:
John R. Wooden AND Cora M. Bodine were married 24 March 1898 in Alden.
In June 1900, John and Cora Wooden lived in Hopewell, Ontario County engaged in farming. John reported that in 2 years of marriage his wife Cora had borne one child, their son Stanley who was living with them.

Mrs. Cora M. Wooden, 73, wife of John R. Wooden, died last night at her home, 50 Bristol street, after a long illness. Born in Clarence Feb. 12, 1874, she was the daughter of the late William and Jane Bodine. Her early years, were spent in the town of her birth, where she taught school before moving to Hopewell in 1898, the year of her marriage. For over 40 years she was a resident of Hopewell before moving to Canandaigua in 1939. Mrs. Wooden was for many years Hopewell correspondent for the Daily Messenger; was a silver star member of Hopewell Grange; and had held the office of Hopewell town clerk for four years and deputy clerk 10 years. Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Stanley Wooden, Canandaigua: one sister, Mrs. A. G. Bicksler, Rochester; two granddaughters, Misses Jeanne and Isabelle Wooden, Canandaigua; also several nieces and nephews in Rochester and Auburn. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.. m., from the home, the Rev. Stephen S. Pratt, pastor of Chapin Methodist church officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

John R. Wooden, 90, former supervisor and town clerk for the Town of Hopewell, died in Thompson Hospital, Saturday. A native of Seneca County, he was born Oct. 22, 1870, the son of the late Levi and Sarah Fish Wooden. From 1898 until 1942 he operated a fruit farm in Hopewell. He was a 50 year member of the Hopewell Grange and a 50 member of the Stanley Lodge IOOF. He attended the Chapin Methodist Church. His wife, the former Cora Bodine, died in 1947. Since that time, he had lived with his son, Stanley L. Wooden, Parrist St. Ext. Besides his son, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ray Turner of Anthony, Kan.; two brothers, George Nichols of Gorham and Warren Nichols of Washington, D.C.; two granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Kennedy and Son Funeral Home where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Frederic Jackson, pastor of the Chapin Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
