Huntsville No. 30 (AP)--A teenage housewife killed herself with a .32 pistol here today. Coroner J. L. Giles ruled the death of Mrs. Josie Barnes Bodine, 17, as suicide. Raymond Bodine, the husband, said he had been out in the yard to get some coal and when he returned he heard a shot in the kitchen. He found his wife lying on the floor with a wound in her left chest, he added. The young mother had an 18-month-old daughter by a previous marriage, Giles said.

A veteran and the owner of RC Bodine Contracting, Raymond Carl Bodine of Guntersville died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Shepherd's Cove Hospice. He was 79. He was retired from the Army as an E-6. His company serviced Marshall and Blount counties. He is survived by his wife, Willa Dean Bodine; 2 sons, Gary D. Bodine (Trisha) and Terry Michael Bodine; a daughter, Michelle Cornelius (Dwight); grandson Arik G. Bodine; granddaughters Dannelle Cornelius and Ashley Cornelius; 3 brothers, John, Kenneth and James Bodine; 3 half-brothers, Danny, Charles and Tim Baugh; a sister, Sue Baker; and 2 half-sisters, Shelia Baugh and Jan Rich. The Funeral was Thursday at Carr Funeral Home with Bro. James Dudley and David Thomas officiating. He was buried in Bodine Cemetery.
