The death of Theron Bodine was reported in the New York Herald of 22 Sept 1849. In June 1850, his widow, Margaret Bodine 42, lived in Brooklyn with their 3 children-Mary J. 20, Sarah 13 and John 6. In July 1860, residing in New York City's 18th Ward, the family appears as Mrs. Margaret Bodine 53, Mary J. 29, dressmaker, Sarah A. C. 21 school teacher, John S. 15. In July 1870, now residents of the city's 19th Ward, the family appears as Margaret Bodine 63, Mary J. 35, Sarah 30 and John 23, book keeper. In June 1880, the family appears as Margaret Bodine 73, Mary 40, Sarah 35, John 30.
