Notes for: Elizabeth Bodine
She is mentioned as "my second daughter Elizabeth, wife of John VanFleet" in Cornelius' will.
She must have died before the lawsuit mentioned in her sister Catherine Bodine's notes. That was June 4, 1897. Elizabeth does not seem to be mentioned in that lawsuit.

Hello Bodines, I am in the middle of all the genealogy you are working on. I am also a grandaughter of Cornelius C Bodine and Hannah Vantine. I am decended from Joris and Catalyntje Trico Rapalje(1623) through at least two of their children. I have had a feeling about Joris mother who was supposed to be Elizabeth Baudewyn Valenciennes France. I have been familer to the Bodine and Rapalee names since I have been a child. My Grandfather is Andrew Raplee Van Fleet who is a direct decend down from Cornelius and Hanna. I have been on the computer looking through these articles and webs for two years and it is comming together. His family is Van Vliet who were in the Bodine Cosine family tree. Van Vliet family came to Ny in 1650's They were in Conewago Pa church group who went to Owasco Ny by wagon train(and walked). I have collected articles and new things pop up and fit together. The Van Fleet home was in Wolcott Wayne County New York. John and Elizabeth Van Fleet were buried there. They were among the first settlers into New York upstate.
She is the daughter of Cornelius Bodine who with his mother, whose maiden name was Lemma Cosine( I believe she is the daughter of Cornelius Cosine) and his brothers, Abram Bodine, John Bodine, and Peter Bodine, came to Cayuga county, New York from the county of Adams, near Gettysburg in the state of Pennsylvania, about 1796 or 1797. Cornelius Bodine married Hanna Van Tyne, March 23, 1790. Elizabeth Bodine born July 17, l793, died May 25, 1871. John March Van Fleet and Elizabeth were married Oct 25, 1815. This may not be exactly accurate but is what I have about my family. I have other dates etc. I am going back to your websight and read on from where I left off,, What a treasure.
Thank you,
Bonnie DeMoss.

They are burried in the Old Van Fleet Cemetery, town of Wolcott, Wayne Co., N.Y. Corner of Red Creek-Fairhaven and Blind Sodus Roads, Ground is very poor condition, badly overgrown, and many stones face down. Article says these were all turned over and copied. Here is a list of family burried there and you may know some of the names. John March Van Fleet was born Oct 26, 1793 in New Jersey. Elizabeth Bodine, born July 17, 1793, died May 25, 1871. They were married Oct 25, 1815. John is the son of Garrett Van Fleet and Lydia March born in the town of Amwell, county of Hunterdon, New Jersey Nov 24,1757,died in the town of Owasco, Cayuga county 1842 age 85 They had 6 children. Van Fleet family goes back to Holland.
I believe the Bodine family and Cosine fimily have been closely related for a long time. Do you have any information of the Rapalje or Raplee family with the Boudewyn or Bodeyn name in early NY. I believe there is a connection to the original Jean Bodine to the Raplee family. Rapalje family were in the wool and silk industry in Belgium and France, and came here to escape. Joris and Catalynte were on the first boat to America after the Mayflower. They had the first white girl child in born NY. Joris was born in Valenciennes France and his mother was Elizabeth Baudewn, Rapalje. I believe she died there shortly after he was born, never coming to NY.
From Ronny Bodine:
In her father's will she is called the second daughter. John and Elizabeth Van Fleet were buried in Van Fleet Cemetery, Wolcott, Wayne County, New York.
