He is listed as Joshua Bodine in the 1850 Census of Morris Co., NJ. He is 18 and born in NJ. He is also listed as Joshua Bodine in the 1860 Census of Springfield Twp., Oakland Co., MI (maybe living in Austin). He was 28 (b. NJ) and living at home with his parents.
There is a Joshua Bodine (age 39, farmer) listed in the 1870 Census of Pontiac, Oakland Co., MI. He is married to Sarah (age 30) and they have a daughter May (ag 6). That does appear to be this same Joshua.

Sarah J. Bodine, born Jan 1841 in Rise (sic, Rose), MI, dau. of James & Sarah (Knight) Wortman; died 6 May 1908 in Pontiac. Buried in oak Hill Cemetery. Etta Fregard, Pontiac, informant.
