From the Christian Intelligencer of the Reformed Dutch Church (New York City) of 8 Sept 1859.
Married. In the Reformed Dutch Church at Walden, August 17th, by Rev. M. V. Schoonmaker, Richard Samuels to Josephine T. [sic] Bodine, both of Walden.
In June 1880, Richard and Josephine Samuels lived in Montgomery, Orange County. Richard Samuels was a blacksmith and Melinda Bodine, Josephine's mother, lived with the family. In June 1900, Josephine Samuels was now widowed and lived in Newburgh, Orange County with 3 of her children and a son-in-law. She reported having borne 5 children, all still living. In April 1910, now aged 74, she still lived in Newburgh.
1920 Newburgh, Orange Co., NY: Josephine SAMUELS 83 NY living with her son-in-law and daughter, David and Flora Hanson.

Richard Samuels died 18 Aug 1898 in Newburgh, Orange County.
Josephine Samuel [sic] died 9 Jan 1921 in Newburgh, Orange County.
