Notes for: Moses Bodine
Moses appears to be the brother of the Sarah Bodine who married William Stitt. He may also be related to Benjamin Bodine, b. 1773. Here is a message about that and see more notes below.

Subject: Bodine site
Hi:
Ran across your website doing research on one of my Stitts who married a Bodine.
William Stitt (1762-1819) m. Sarah (Sally) Bodine (1773-1858) on Nov 19, 1794 per Shawangunk church records. When I saw that Moses Bodine had a son William Stitt Bodine, I came to the same conclusion that you did: that Moses Bodine was probably Sarah Bodine Stitt's brother. There was an additional reason for me thinking this: William and Sarah Stitt had a son, Moses Bodine Stitt (1797-1877). Of course, I'm still trying to figure out who their father was!

Hi Barbara,
If you look at my site under Elizabeth Bodine in the Names Index, you may find more possibilities. I saw four or five at least who were born around 1810 and were from that area. I would need more info if I were to help pin this down some more. Who else is related to them? What other info do you have? What are some more names in this family: children, relatives, etc.? My best wild guess at this point is that she might be the daughter of Moses Bodine and Ann/Hannah Newkirk. However, I don't have a lot on that family.
Let me know if you have some more info.

Subject: Eliza Bodine
My great great great grandmother is a Eliza Bodine, married to an Absolom Sherman. Both from Montgomery, Orange, NY. They had a son named Hiram B. Sherman. Do you have any idea who Eliza's parents are? Eliza must have been born ca. 1810 or so....
Thanks for your help,
Barbara
