James L. Bodine, 25, of Covington, Ind., farmer, born in Indiana, son of Robert Bodine AND Eleana P. Hickman, 23, of Danville, Ind., daughter of George A. Hickman, were married 6 June 1915 in St. Joseph, by G. E. Lohr, Clergyman.

On 5 June 1917, James LaTaurette Bodine registeed for the World War 1 draft in Fountain County. He reported he was born 28 April 1890 near Covington, Fountain County, was a self-employed farmer and was married and had a child. In April 1930, James L. Bodine, age 39, a farmer, lived with his family in Troy, Fountain County. In 1942, as James La Tourrette Bodine, he registered for the World War II draft in Shawnee, Fountain County. He reported that his next of kin was his daughter Georgianna Bodine of Attica, Indiana.

Eleanor Pearl Bodine, age 40 years, wife of James L. Bodine, passed away at her home 3 miles northwest of Covington, Saturday, Jan. 30th. Her funeral was held at her home, Monday, Feb. 1st at 2 o'clock. Rev. Chas. Howard officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

James L. Bodine of Covington, age 80, died Thursday morning, October 16, in Covington Manor Nursing Center. He was born in Fountain County, April 28, 1890, the son of Robert and Charlotte LaTourette Bodine. June 6, 1915, he married Pearl Hickman, who died January 30, 1932. A farmer in Shawnee Township most of his life, he had operated a street car in Danville in his early years. Bodine was a member of the old Presbyterian Church, Knights of Pythias Lodge, Fountain Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Amaranth Lodge of Lafayette. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Eleanor Gaylor of Attica and Mrs. Georgianna Ford of Covington; a son, James R. of rural Attica; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Partenheimer of Urbana, Illinois, and Mrs. Grace Coffey of rural Crawfordsville; five grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. James Boudouris officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington.
