TORRINGTON---A memorial service for Ronald L. Bodine, 62, will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Calvin E. Leeds and the Rev. David Finley officiating. Mr. Bodine died at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb., on Nov. 30, 1996. He was born July 28, 1934, the son of Harry and Dorothy (Parker) Bodine, in Sheridan, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1953. He attended the University of Wyoming, where he played freshman football. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. After his discharge, he returned to Sheridan and attended Sheridan College and worked at the Jersey Creamery. He married Wanda Warnke in Sheridan on Sept. 8, 1957. In 1960, he joined the Wyoming State Highway Patrol where they were stationed briefly in Cheyenne before moving to Torrington. During that time he was a Motor Carrier Officer for six years and a member of the Governor's Special Services Squad for nine years. He retired in 1986 and worked for the Goshen County Assessor's Office and the Goshen County School District. He was the Torrington City Court Judge until his death. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 8 in Sheridan and Consistory No. 1 in Cheyenne. Survivors include his wife of Torrington; son, William Brent Bodine of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Pamela Sue Reichert of Torrington; a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law, one grandson, his parents of Sheridan, sisters Bethel Bodine of El Cerrito, Calif., and twins Karol Tinken of Gillette and Karen Schmill of Casper and 12 nieces and nephews. Memorial gifts to the Hospice Program beginning in Torrington, in care of Community Hospital, would be appreciated by the family.
