Wanetta Mae Bodine. 65, of Rockford, formerly of Alton, died at 1 a.m. Saturday at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. Born in Westerville. Ohio, daughter of the late Earl and Bessie Smith, she married Mont E. Bodine Jr. on June 26, 1943 in Williamsburg, Va., and he survives. Also surviving, are two sons, Mont E. Bodine III and Timothy J. Bodine, both of Byron; six grandchildren; and one brother, Earl Smith of Dayton, Ohio. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Morrison-Genandt Funeral Home in Byron, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery.

ROCKFORD - Former Alton resident Mont Everett Bodine Jr., 78, died at 10:06 a.m. Monday, May 11,1992, at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and prior to retiring was a contractor for Modern Plumbing and Heating in Alton. Born on Jan. 1,1914, in Mount Vernon, he was the son of the late Mont Everett and Jesse (Romine) Bodine Sr. On June 26, 1943, in Williamsburg, Va., he married the former Juanita Mae Smith. She died on July 20, 1985. Surviving are two sons, Mont Everett III and Timothy J. Bodine, both of Byron; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lew Bodine; and a sister, Elizabeth Gussman. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Genandt Funeral Home in Byron, where services are at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. William J. Nelson will officiate. Burial is in Byron Cemetery.
