From Indiana Marriage Records: Harry Eugene Bodine and Elizabeth Ellen Martin were married 12 June 1919 in Fountain County.

"Gean" Bodine, age 2, lived with his parents June 1900 in Fulton Township, Fountain County, Indiana. On 11 Sept 1918, Harry Eugene Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft in Covington, Fountain County. He reported he was born 10 Nov 1897 and was a student at Purdue University and named Joseph Bodine as his nearest kin. In Jan 1920, Gene and Elizabeth Bodine, lived with his parents in Fulton Township where Gene worked as a farm laborer. In April 1930, Jean and Louisa Bodine lived in Covington, Fountain County. "Jean" reported he and Louisa had been married 4 years.

GREENWOOD---H.E. Bodine, 72, of Rt. 3, Greenwood, died Sunday in the Johnson County Hospital at Franklin, Ind. He had been in failing health for several years. He was born on Nov. 10, 1897, to Joseph and Susan Stanton Bodine at Covington. He was married to Louise Nebeker Jan. 2, 1926. Mr. Bodine was a graduate of Covington High School and the engineering school of Purdue University. He was active in politics during the 1920s and 1930s. He was clerk of the Fountain Circuit Court for four years in the '20s and chairman of the Fountain County Democratic Party in 1926. In 1935 he was the field engineer for the Federal Works Administration in Indiana, and in 1938 organized the Indiana work supply of WPA. Mr. Bodine joined the Stokley-Van Camp organization in 1943 and in 1957 he was appointed head of its real estate department. He retired from Stokley-Van Camp in 1962 due to ill health. In 1957 he was chairman of the legislative committee of the Indiana Mental Health Association. He also served as secretary of the Indiana State Highway Commission under Gov. Harold Handley during 1957 to 1960. Mr. Bodine was a member of the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church of Greencastle. He also belonged to Fountain Lodge No. 60, F and AM of Covington and the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine of Indianapolis. Mr. Bodine was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Surviving are the widow; two sons, James D. of Greenwood, and Martin S. of Lakeville, Minn.; a daughter, Dortha Boltz of Greenwood, and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert, in August. Services will he conducted at the J.C. Wilson Funeral Home, Greenwood Chapel, on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Summer Walters will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens on Rt. 3, Greenwood. Friends may call at the Greenwood Chapel after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
