Notes for: Abraham (Abram) G. Bodine

I had him as Abraham C. Bodine, but Ronny Bodine said it is Abraham G. Bodine. He thinks the "C" may have come from a misreading of the tombstone. See his records further below where the "G" is found on numerous occasions.

LDS says "of Lancaster, PA." I am guessing that he is the Abram Bodine listed in the 1850 Census of Plymouth Twp., Richland Co., OH. His mother and other siblings are listed in Cass Township. Abram appears to be in the household of his brother, John. Abram is 28 and born in New York. His wife is Cornelia (age 25, b. Mass.). Abram is a farmer. In 1860, he is in the Plymouth Township Census in his own household. Those listed are the following:

He and his wife are buried in the Plymouth Greenlawn Cemetery in Richland County, Ohio (see Richland County, Ohio Cemeteries, p. 207). Also buried in that cemetery are Ella B. Bodine (1856-1917) and Leonard G. Bodine (1858-1929). I'm not sure if they are related or not, but I'd be surprised if one or both were thier children.

*This is hard to read, but it looks like their three children were born in Ohio.

Abraham G. Bodine, age 60, farmer, married, born in Cayuga Co., NY, died 11 Dec 1881 in Cass Twp., Richland Co.

Abraham and Cordelia Bodine were buried in the Plymouth Greenlawn Cemetery in Richland County, Ohio.
