Dave:
I am researching the ownership of a piece of property in Haddon Township, NJ. It was owned in 1896-1914 by Susannah Hacker Bodine and Samuel Laurence Bodine. I found Susannah (listed as Susan) in the 1870 census (Philadelphia, 23rd dist., 8th ward) as the daughter of Charles Hacker, age 40, Wholesale Dry Goods Merchant, and wife Jane J. Hacker. In the 1860 census I found Jane's parents: Caleb Johnson and Susannah Johnson in Philadelphia. Jane was living with them and so was her future husband Charles Hacker.
Also, apparently S. Laurence Bodine was into foxhunting as I see him mentioned in the Radnor (Pa.) Hunt Club.
It looks like Susannah was married twice. Once to an Unknown English and then to your S. Laurence Bodine.
I am still doing research so I may give you more information later. Do you have any photos of Susannah Hacker Bodine or S. Laurence Bodine?
